My name is Adeline Shin and I am currently a Data Scientist at Humana’s office in Boston, MA. My work is centered around health-related social needs and how disparities such as food insecurity, financial strain, and other outside factors can influence a person’s health status. I am passionate about striving towards health equity and finding creative solutions that can improve health outcomes for all, and not just the average individual.
Prior to this, I completed my MS in Biostatistics at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health in the Theory and Methods track. I also received my BS in Biomedical and Chemical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, with a minor in drama. My interests lie at the intersection of Health Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, and Precision Medicine. Particularly, I am interested in how we can measure social determinants of health on an individual level and implement ways to help disadvantaged groups.
In my spare time, I enjoy rock climbing, reading, sailing, seeing theatre, and watching Formula One races. You can check out some of my previous projects and work in the other tabs.
